Written by news-press.com

Kiwanis and Rotary are requesting volunteers this Saturday, June 4, to help plant 1,000 trees in Cape Coral, at the corner of Chiquita Boulevard and Veterans Parkway.

The project marks the first for Kiwanis’ new Environmental Committee.

At the direction of Russ Ringland, from the Cape Coral Rotary and the Urban Forestry Department, volunteers are asked to meet at the corner of Chiquita and Veterans to spend the morning in teams planting young pines and mulching.

The event begins at 9 a.m. and runs until noon. Volunteers should bring water and wear sunscreen.

Pizza at II Primos at 2209 on Santa Barabara will follow.
